FedPoint Employees Explore Community Issues as Part
of Leadership Seacoast Class of 2021
Portsmouth, NH (August 9, 2021)—FedPoint® announced that two more employees have graduated from Leadership Seacoast. Graduating as part of the 2021 class were Instructional Design and Curriculum Developer Angel Simone and Team Leader and Reporting Analyst Darcie LeTendre. Graduation was held on July 28 at the Browne Center in Durham.
Leadership Seacoast is a nonprofit civic engagement organization dedicated to enriching and inspiring both emerging and existing leaders within the Seacoast. One of more than 3,000 community leadership programs in the United States, the mission of Leadership Seacoast is to develop a base of effective, knowledgeable, and engaged community members through the exploration of community issues and opportunities for personal involvement.
Over the course of the program, LeTendre and Simone, along with their classmates, heard from experts in a variety of fields on topics such as health and human services, education, government, and criminal justice. They also gained insight into how business, community, and politics can integrate and form societies to effectively confront regional challenges.
"Leadership Seacoast was such an eye-opening experience for me," LeTendre said. "Being from Connecticut, I have always felt a bit out of the loop with what is going on in the Seacoast region. This program not only enlightened me on the issues going on around me, but it also empowered me to do something about them."
Simone echoed LeTendre's sentiments. "Having lived in New Hampshire for less than two years, being part of Leadership Seacoast was an awesome way to network and get connected with other like-minded leaders who are committed to making a difference in their communities. Leadership Seacoast reignited the passion within me to impact others’ lives for the better, and to amplify those voices that are not being heard."
To date, 13 FedPoint employees have graduated from Leadership Seacoast. To support employees' civic engagement, FedPoint provides full tuition for its employees who are accepted into the program and is also a program-day sponsor each year.
